Dinner Time release new album Tenchnicolor

Technicolor is a fitting title for the third full-length album from Atlanta’s Dinner Time. Just as the monochrome Dorothy stepped into the dazzing, technicolor world of Oz, the newest offering from the indie/psych quintet almost seems to make their previous efforts seem one-dimensional in comparison. The band blithely slips between moods and genres across the 9-song tracklist, bending towards their garage rock roots at times and pushing towards a more psychedelic, almost jazzy direction in the next moment. The group’s love of music and the songwriting process are immediately apparent, and the album includes plenty of weird sounds, sonic details, and motifs to reward careful listeners. Songwriters Ian Buford, Andrew Joyce, and Alejandro Uribe take the audience through a whole spectrum of emotions: downtrodden blues, longing and regret, nostalgia, jubilant love… and even the insidious call of the casino threatening to pull someone in. I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore… Technicolor releases on May 10 via the Record Machine.
