2022 Look Back

We hope your 2022 was a good one. It’s been another crazy year here at The Record Machine. We feel lucky to have another year of releasing great music and organizing cool events under our belts. This year will be remembered for great new music from the likes of Bathe Alone, Believers, Blonde Bones, Bluey Green, Indoor Creature, Monta at Odds, and Static Phantoms. We also got to put on our annual Lemonade Social music and beer fest, curated bands for our friends at Velo Garage, and participated in great fests like Blvdia, Treefort, Lincoln Calling, and Outer Reaches. We also had vinyl finally come in for the likes of Blvck Hippie, Dinner Time, Indoor Creature, Monta At Odds, and The Fey. We even worked on marketing and social media for our friends at recordBar all year too.

We are looking forward to 2023, which looks to be an even busier year. We already have releases lined up from Hall Johnson, Soultru, Blonde Bones, and Monta, and that’s just January and February. As you can see from the band’s statements, many are already at work on follow-up releases that will hopefully come out in 2023! We also are hopefully making another trek to Treefort in March.

We look forward to what 2023 brings and hope to see you out at a show.

Bathe Alone

2022 was a pretty transformative year for my music. So excited for next year - I’m putting the finishing touches on more new music, and there are more shows and other top-secret things to look forward to!

Believers

I’m feeling real grateful and relieved to finally have Piecemeal out in the world (which wouldn’t have happened without the Record Machine). Finishing that album freed up a lot of space for me to work on the next round of songs; I’m looking forward to continuing to coerce this new batch of tunes out of the ether in 2023.

Blonde Bones

We're honored to be a part of the TRM family and grateful to everyone who has come out to shows and checked out the music we've put out this year. We are all very much looking forward to hitting the road next year and stoked about the tunes we've got lined up for release. Happy Holidays!

Bluey Green

"I think 2023 is going to be all about fresh starts. For me, it's going to be all about new collaborations, new ways of releasing and performing music, and new sounds. Just enjoying the process and getting out of the never-ending comparison game. Life’s too short for that. Much Love, Mitch”

Blvck Hippie

I'm so grateful for everything we did in 2022, from SXSW to our Paste Live session, to getting a song in Reservation Dogs. Next year we're super stoked to be supporting M.A.G.S. on his album preview tour in February for many more tours and maybe even some new music!

Dinner Time

2022 was a great year for Dinner Time, finally getting back on the road and playing cities we haven't been to in a few years. A huge highlight was making it out to Boise to play Treefort for the first time! We've got new music and new tour dates in the works so we'll be keeping busy in the new year. Huge thanks to everyone that has discovered our band this year. Music is fun :-)

Hall Johnson

"This year has been the best year Hall Johnson has ever had. Playing SXSW, touring with the likes of Good Morning, embarking on a headlining tour across the US, signing with The Record Machine, and some of us graduating, we couldn't be more thankful for what 2022 had in store for us. We feel incredibly grateful to play music in any capacity and are stoked to embark on this latest adventure with The Record Machine as we release our debut album in 2023.”

Indoor Creature

“We’ve spent the past year working on our next album. This upcoming year is hopefully the year we can share what we’ve been cooking. We’re thankful for everyone that’s helped us grow this past year!”

Monta At Odds

Monta started the year gearing up to play Treefort Fest and had an amazing time. We were lucky enough to play Lincoln Calling, and Outer Reaches as well. We had a solid release with Peaked and will end the year playing New Order covers for a fun party.

We are really looking forward to playing Treefort again in 2023 as we are finally getting more shows out of town to see our old and soon-to-be new friends on the West Coast. We have a series of EPs planned for the year with lots of new music to move your body and mind.

Soultru

2022 was great to get back out on the road and push to gain some momentum again. Plus, I got to meet and make some new friends within the label at Lincoln Calling and when I played ATL.

I hope to meet more of them next year as I'll be touring a ton with runs booked from February to May already. I'm excited to drop some brand-new music in the coming months, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for The Record Machine and all those involved.

Static Phantoms

2022 marked a great debut for Static Phantoms, with their first live show opening for Modern English and songs from their initial offering on Record Machine making many Top Songs of the Year lists.

2023 offers some exciting opportunities for the project, as well, including more shows and recording new songs for a follow-up release, both of which with the intent of expanding their neo-new wave sound.

The Fey

A year of growth, progression, and self reflection outside of music and art… That’s what 2022 was for me and THE FEY. As for the new year, ultimately at peace with myself and the future, I’m very excited to showcase this evolved me through some of the dopest music and art I’ve ever created.
