Believers release first single Midnight Shoppers

"...begins with atmospheric swells and echoes followed by low toms and heavily distorted bass. Crisp guitar octaves and cinematic synthesizers are generously peppered throughout the mix. It’s poppy and groovy carried by a consuming bass riff." - Glide Magazine

After a few years of hibernation, Wesley Powell returns as Believers with Midnight Shoppers, the first single off his forthcoming album, Piecemeal. There are few places that display the twisted dysfunction of American inequality as boldly as Powell’s home in the Bay Area of California, where modern opulence exists mere feet from utter destitution. With its fuzzed-out bass, cavernous synth swells, and gentle motorik beat, the song asks how so many of us have grown accustomed to the daily sight of such depravity: “Another open palm/Destitute, asking alms/And I walk by.”
